Purpose

The District Events Committee ensures all district-level events — from contests to conferences — are well-organized, inclusive, and aligned with Toastmasters International standards. This committee promotes consistency, member engagement, and positive experiences across all D212 gatherings.

Scope & Deliverables

  • Unified calendar of all major district events.
  • Standardized event planning toolkit and checklist.
  • Coordination of the inaugural D212 District Conference.
  • Compliance with TI event, contest, and safety policies.

Calendar & Planning

  • Develop a master calendar for contests, TLIs, conferences, and celebrations.
  • Align scheduling to avoid overlap with club or area events.

Contest Management

  • Review TI contest rulebooks and adapt to D212.
  • Train contest chairs and chief judges for consistency.
  • Develop digital tools for online or hybrid contests.

 District Conference

  • Create a planning subcommittee for the inaugural conference.
  • Secure a location, budget, and event theme.
  • Incorporate recognition, education, and networking opportunities.

Event Resources & Compliance

  • Create a district events manual with timelines, budget templates, and vendor guidelines.
  • Ensure all venues have TI liability coverage.
  • Collect and archive event feedback for improvement.
